Michael Jackson 'This Is It' Movie will be in theaters everywhere October 28.

Mary Travers

Mary Travers of the famed 1960's folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary has died at the age of 72. Mary Travers passed away Wednesday, the band's publicist, Heather Lylis, says Travers died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut . Mary had been fighting leukemia since 2005 and ultimately succumbed to the disease despite a bone marrow transplant.

She is survived by her fourth husband, two daughters, two grandchildren and a sister. 

Glee Fox

Fox opted to air its heavily-hyped "Glee" and So You Think You can Dance rather than the President Obama's speech on health care tonight.

ABC, CBS and NBC are carrying the Presidential Address to a Joint Session of Congress new special.

Friday on Glee (FOX), the club does its first performance in front of an audience. The cheerleading coach sends her team in to infiltrate the glee club, so she can bring it down.

Michael Jordan picked an unexpected guest to host his induction into the NBA basketball Hall of Fame: former NBA basketball player and North Carolina Star, David "Skywalker" Thompson.

The choice of David Thompson came as a surprise to most Michael Jordan fans, but Michael Jordan said that he wouldn’t have become who he was without David Thompson, having seen him as a athletic role model in Jordan's local area.

David Thompson played college basketball for North Carolina State, and is the only former NC State college player to have had his number retired.

Nikki Catsouras car crash photos | Nikki Catsouras death pictures

On Halloween 2006, 18-year-old Nikki Catsouras  while driving her father’s black Porsche 911 Carrera at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a concrete tollbooth. She was killed instantly and then just a few days later, nine graphic Nikki Catsouras car crash photos were published all over the internet.

California Highway Patrol apologized for the leaked photos blaming two CHP dispatchers. One of the men’s attorney said that he sent the images to relatives and friends “as a cautionary tale” to warn them of the dangers of the road. “Any young person that sees these photos and is goaded into driving more cautiously or less recklessly-that’s a public service.” One was suspended and the other one ended up quitting.

The Catsourases have spent thousands of dollar in legal fees attempting to stop  Nikki Catsouras death pictures from being published and sued the CHP for negligence, invasion of privacy and emotional distress, but in March of 2008, the case was dismissed by a California superior-court judge.

Federer fights off U.S. Open challenge; Nadal advances

(CNN) -- World number one Roger Federer fought off a tough challenge on Wednesday from Germany's Simon Greul to advance to the third round of the U.S. Open, while earlier Rafael Nadal knocked out a ruthless straight sets demolition of the returning Richard Gasquet.

Federer dispatched little-known Greul 6-3 7-5 7-5, and fired off eight aces. The top seed next faces Lleyton Hewitt, who cruised past Argentina's Juan Ignacio Chela.

Indonesian quake leaves 46 dead, dozens missing

CIKANGKARENG, Indonesia – Rescuers dug through rocks and debris with their bare hands Thursday in search of dozens of villagers believed buried in a landslide triggered by a strong Indonesian earthquake that killed at least 46 people and caused widespread damage.

At least 110 people were hospitalized with injuries from the 7.0 magnitude quake just off the coast of densely populated Java island, Disaster Management Agency spokesman Priyadi Kardono said, adding that 10 were in critical condition.

Skyline College shooting leaves one student shot and campus on lockdown.Police are searching for a gunman at Skyline College in northern California.

A notice on the website for Skyline College reads:

Emergency Notification: We have had a shooting on campus and are now in lockdown. Please shelter in place, away from windows, with doors shut until further notice. We sent an emergency text message to all students. Wednesday evening classes have been cancelled.
