The Saturday night season of College Football opens with this matchup of national powers in Atlanta. The Tide return eight starters from a defense that was superb last season...until the last two games, when they were rolled by Florida and Utah. The Hokies are a defensive power as well, but lost star RB Darren Evans to a knee injury, and face Nebraska and Miami in addition to today's bout with the Tide.
