MMA Betting: UFC 110 goes to Australia

UFC 110
The Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its first foray to Australia as UFC 110 takes place this weekend at the Acer Arena in Sydney.

The UFC 110 fight card features two main events. In one of the big bouts, a world heavyweight title shot will be up for grabs when unbeaten Cain Velasquez takes on former UFC and PRIDE champion Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira.

Velasquez is a -120 favorite while Nogueira is at +100 in MMA Betting Odds at betED.com.

Nogueira and Velasquez were scheduled to fight at UFC 108 on Jan. 2, but Nogueira suffered a recurrence of a staph infection, forcing postponement until this weekend’s match.

Velasquez is 7–0 in UFC bouts after defeating Ben Rothwell at UFC 104 with a TKO at 0:58 of Round 2. His previous fight was at UFC 99 against former kickboxer and established UFC heavyweight Cheick Kongo. Velasquez dominated and won the bout by unanimous decision.

A second main event scrap has Michael “The Count” Bisping of the United Kingdom providing the opposition for the middleweight debut of the legendary ‘Axe Murderer’, Wanderlei Silva.

Silva is favored at -150 and Bisping is at +120.

Other fighters expected to be in Sydney on Saturday are Marko CroCrop, Keith Jardine, and Stephan Bonnar.

There was a scheduled fight between Elvis Sinosic and Chris Haseman, which would have marked the first ever all-Australian bout to take place in the UFC, but Sinosic suffered a shoulder injury this week and the fight has been postponed.
